Face

Facial surgery covers aesthetic and reconstructive procedures on the eyelids, nose, ears, cheeks and the entire facial contour. At the practice of Dr. Markus-Johannes Handl in Vienna, the focus is on a natural result: the face should look fresher and more harmonious without losing its individual expression.

Because the face is the first thing people notice, even small changes have a big effect. That makes a careful analysis of your starting point, honest advice on what is and is not possible, and precise surgical technique all the more important.

Facial surgery on the eyelids and eye area

Heavy upper eyelids and eye bags often make you look tired. In an upper eyelid lift, excess skin on the upper eyelid is removed; in a lower eyelid lift, eye bags and sagging skin on the lower eyelid are corrected. For dark or sunken under-eye circles, a dark circles treatment may be an option.

Facial contour and rejuvenation

With age, the skin loses elasticity and the face loses volume. A facelift tightens the skin and deeper tissue layers of the cheeks, jawline and neck. With nanofat from your own fatty tissue, skin quality and volume can be improved in specific areas of the face. If you would like full cheeks to look slimmer, you can find out about buccal fat removal, in which cheek fat is removed through an incision inside the mouth.

Nose and ears

Rhinoplasty changes the shape and proportions of the nose and, depending on the findings, can also improve nasal breathing. Protruding ears can be corrected by ear pinning. For earlobes stretched by flesh tunnels there is stretched earlobe repair, and bothersome holes left by piercings can be closed with piercing hole repair.

Consultation before facial surgery

Every facial operation starts with a detailed personal consultation. Dr. Handl examines your starting point, discusses your wishes and explains which method is an option for you, and which is not. This includes the procedure, the type of anaesthesia, the healing phase and possible risks. The aim is realistic expectations of the result.

Not every change in the face requires surgery. Many concerns such as wrinkles, loss of volume or a poorly defined jawline can also be improved with minimally invasive treatments such as hyaluronic acid or wrinkle treatment. In the consultation, you will find out which approach makes sense for you.

You will find an overview of the individual facial surgery treatments below, with information on procedure, healing and costs on each page.
