Dr. Nikolaus Redtenbacher

Dr. Nikolaus Redtenbacher – expert in nose surgery and plastic facial surgery

Dr. Nikolaus Redtenbacher is a specialist in ear, nose and throat medicine (ENT) with extensive experience in plastic facial surgery. A particular focus of his medical work is nose surgery and nose correction. By combining his thorough ENT training with his knowledge of aesthetic and functional facial surgery, he can take both the medical and the aesthetic aspects of a rhinoplasty into account.

This combination is particularly important in a nose correction. The nose not only has a major influence on the harmony and proportions of the face but also performs important functions for breathing. The aim of a carefully planned nose operation is therefore to combine form and function as well as possible.

Dr. Redtenbacher treats patients in Vienna and Ternitz in Lower Austria and has many years of clinical and surgical experience.

Training and clinical experience

After studying medicine at the University of Vienna, Dr. Redtenbacher first trained as a general practitioner. He then specialised in ear, nose and throat medicine and completed his specialist training at Wiener Neustadt Hospital.

During his further clinical career, he worked, among other things, as a senior consultant in an ENT department. He also headed the ENT outpatient clinic of the Herz-Jesu Hospital in Vienna.

These many years in a clinical environment allowed him to gain extensive experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of ear, nose and throat conditions. The functional anatomy of the nose and the surgical treatment of nasal problems in particular became an important focus of his work.

Focus on nose surgery

Nose operations are among the most demanding procedures in plastic facial surgery. Even small changes can noticeably influence the appearance of the whole face.

Dr. Redtenbacher therefore places great importance on carefully analysing individual facial proportions and anatomical conditions. In the personal consultation, wishes and expectations are taken into account just as much as possible functional complaints.

Depending on the starting situation, a nose operation can be performed for aesthetic reasons, because of breathing problems or for a combination of both.

Possible changes can concern, for example, the bridge of the nose, the nasal tip, the width of the nose or the overall shape of the nose. At the same time, functional changes such as restricted nasal breathing can be taken into account.

The aim is a result that fits harmoniously into the face and looks as natural as possible.

Plastic facial surgery and aesthetic medicine

In addition to nose corrections, Dr. Redtenbacher works in other areas of plastic and aesthetic facial surgery.

These include wrinkle treatments, wrinkle fillers and facial contouring. In these treatments, too, the focus is on preserving natural facial features.

Since 2011, Dr. Redtenbacher has worked as a lecturer and course leader for wrinkle fillers and facial contouring, passing on his knowledge and practical experience to medical colleagues. In this role, he has worked with Merz Pharma Austria GmbH, among others.

Snoring diagnostics and functional ENT medicine

In addition to aesthetic treatments, Dr. Redtenbacher also offers medical services in the field of ear, nose and throat medicine.

Another focus is snoring diagnostics and snoring therapy. Anatomical causes in the nose and upper airways can be examined and possible treatment options discussed individually.

By combining ENT medicine and plastic facial surgery, Dr. Redtenbacher can assess functional and aesthetic questions together.

International work and further training

Dr. Redtenbacher has also been involved in international medical exchange for many years. Among other things, he has worked as a medical consultant for the Vienna International Allergy Clinic (VIAC) in Cairo and Kuwait.

He also gives specialist lectures and medical training on topics such as nose surgery, allergy diagnostics and allergy therapy.

For him, continuous training and exchange with other specialists are essential parts of modern medical work. This allows new scientific findings and current treatment methods to flow into everyday practice.

Personal advice and individual treatment

With Dr. Redtenbacher, every treatment is preceded by a detailed personal consultation. Especially with a nose operation, it is important to match wishes, anatomical possibilities and medical requirements precisely.

Patients receive a realistic assessment of the possible changes as well as detailed information on the planned procedure, aftercare and the course of healing.

As a specialist in ear, nose and throat medicine with experience in plastic facial surgery, Dr. Redtenbacher combines functional medical knowledge with a keen sense of aesthetics and facial proportions.

Patients interested in nose surgery in Vienna or Lower Austria, a functional nose correction or an aesthetic treatment of the face can find out about their individual options in a personal consultation.
